A Message from Rev. Jordan Milligan
“See, I am doing something new!” Isaiah 43:19
As early as 1917, there was a Catholic presence in this thriving rural community with Catholics initially building a wood-frame church on two acres of land. On March 5, 2000, St. Ann parish dedicated its third place for worship, our current church building, and the pastor and parishioners were so proud of their new church accommodating 650 people. Thanks be to God; our community continues to thrive and grow. As good stewards of the property entrusted to this current Catholic community, after 23 years, it is time to Restore and Renew our church. This case for support outlines these many and pressing needs as well as our plan to address them. This campaign is not just about money or buildings; it is about God’s people. To be a disciple is also to be a steward, to give of ourselves and our resources—spiritual and material—for the good of one another. Please pray for our beloved parish as we embark on the next chapter at St. Ann.
Project Goal: $1,870,000
The total campaign goal to Restore and Renew our church building is $ 1,870,000 million. All funds raised will stay right here at the parish. After much study, in consultation with the finance council, pastoral council, and the building committee, have concluded that our focus will be on the following areas:
Phase One: Replacement of Church Roof and HVAC | $650,000
ALL FUNDS RECEIVED FOR THIS PHASE!
In this phase we will be able to replace the original green metal roof, the flat roof which accommodates the HVAC units and the roof over the walkway at the entrance of the church. Additionally, we will remove the windows on the cupola and retrofit a metal roof for Goertz Hall. This will eliminate the source of leaks, provide a new warranty, and help to unify the look of our campus.
Six of the eight existing HVAC units are the original units manufactured over 23 years ago. This phase will allow us to replace all eight roof top units. This will drastically increase the efficiency of our utilities and reduce monthly expenses.
Phase Two: Upgrades to the Church Building | $610,000
This phase will allow us to make several upgrades to our dated building. This phase will include a new fire alarm system with a new fire alarm control panel and fixtures throughout the church. To enhance the worship experience, we will install a new loudspeaker system, and acoustic panels on the sides, back and ceiling of the Sanctuary. To create a more welcoming environment, we will patch existing damaged areas of drywall and paint the interior throughout as well as replace the existing restroom fixtures with new more efficient fixtures. We will also install new solid countertops, partitions, and hardware.
To improve the curb appeal of our church, we will paint the exterior including fascia, poles, windows, railings, and the Bell Tower for a fresh look. Additionally, with safety top of mind, we will remove the existing brick pavers in front of the church entrance replacing them with concrete. This will alleviate tripping hazards, correct drainage issues, and create a cleaner look. Finally, we will replace the existing exterior light fixtures including the parking lot and walls around the church.
Phase Three: Interior Lighting, Flooring, and Pews | $610,000
To continue to enhance our worship space, we will replace the pendant fixtures and controls in the chapel and over the altar with new, energy efficient fixtures, brightening the Sanctuary. We will also replace the existing flooring throughout the church with new luxury vinyl tile. To accommodate our growing community, we will replace the existing pews with new solid wood pews with kneelers as well as replace the chairs in the chapel and altar.
